ACTIVITIES/INFORMATION (SCHOOL RELATED)

Angel Closet Dress Giveaway provides formal dresses and accessories to high school girls in Longview, Kelso and surrounding communities for winter ball and prom, at no cost.  All high school girls are welcome.  Limit 1 dress per girl, per dance.  Please bring school ID.  For dates please pick up a card in the Guidance Office.

Blood pressure clinic this Thursday in the nurse’s office during both lunches.  Hosted by HOSA.

The first grade check will occur TODAY,  Wednesday, October 2nd.  Any athlete not passing 5 classes on this date may practice but not participate in a contest until the athlete is passing 5 classes.

Reminder to all students wanting to be Teen Mentors- come to a meeting TODAY, Wednesday, in the LGIC during your lunch to hear details about the program.  You can bring your lunch and pizza will be served.  You can bring your completed applications to the meeting.

6th period in the LGIC

The PSAT will be at MMHS on Wednesday, October 16th.

Sign up at the Activities window by Friday, October. 4th.  The cost is $17.  Space is limited.  This test is designed for juniors to prepare for the SAT.  Other class levels are welcome to take the test bus is recommended for junior students.

Students should take it for the following reasons:

It is great practice for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), which is required for entrance to 4 year universities in the State of Washington and throughout the country.

National Merit Scholarships are awarded based on your performance of this test taken your junior year.

Sign up for these in the Career Center

Northlake Elementary School needs volunteers to help in classrooms and to provide childcare during PTO meetings.  These can be used as service to school points or community service hours.  Sign up in the Career Center.

The Washington State Parks Commission is looking for volunteers to help prepare the Mt. St. Helens Visitor Center for next year’s 40th Anniversary of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens.  Sign up in the Career Center.

Cascade and Mt Solo Middle Schools need volunteers to help with volleyball and football games.  Sign up in the Career Center.
