ACTIVITIES/INFORMATION (SCHOOL RELATED)

Hey Longview!  ASL Club and RAL Booster Club needs your help!  Come help us encourage Kylee Jacobson as she battles cancer.  Join us on January 29th at 6:00pm at the RAL auditorium for ASL interpreted music performed by ASL students in all 3 levels!  Admission is free, all donations go to the Jacobson family.

There will be an Aviation Maintenance Day offered by the Washington National Guard on Wednesday, February 5th.  Students interested in attending can sign up with Mrs. Peters in the Career Center beginning tomorrow.  There are a limited number of spots available, so sign up soon!

An Apprenticeship and Trades Family Info Night will be held on Thursday, January 23rd from 5:30-7:30 at the Kelso High School.  This event is for students in grades 10-12 and their families who would like to learn about training and career opportunities in the trades.  Sign up online at www.khscareercenter.com or see Mrs. Peters in the MMHS Career Center on Friday.

Winterball is Saturday, Feb. 8th and dance passes are available to be picked up at the Activities Window and are due Jan. 31st.

Students interested in attending the Washington High School Theatre Festival March 19-21 in Bellingham at WWU should pick up paperwork from Susan Donahue in the Theatre as soon as possible.  Registration commitment, which must be signed by a parent, is due no later than Thursday, January 23rd.

Theatre students interested in helping with elementary and middle school camp fundraisers on Friday, January 24th (Records Day), should contact a Thespian officer or Susan Donahue before Friday, January 17th.

On February 13th, Theatre students are hosting a fundraiser impromptu play at 7:30 p.m.  If you want to participate, the deadline to sign up and pay the $5 fee is January 27th.  If you want to see a hilarious one-act play, come to the theatre by 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 13th!

PSAT scores are in.  Please stop by the Guidance Office to pick up your scores and get your test book.

Performances for Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind are February 28 and 29, March 6 and 7.  If you have questions, talk to theatre director Susan Donahue in the auditorium, check out the Mainstage Theatre Facebook page, or email Susan.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Sign up for these in the Career Center

The Children’s Discovery Museum is in need of volunteers.  Stop by the Career Center for more information.

Monticello Park Senior Living is looking for volunteers to teach their residents how to use their cell phones, computers, or other electronics.  This will be on Wednesdays in January starting at 2:00pm.  Sign up in the Career Center.

Volunteers are needed to help in the reading program at Northlake Elementary School from 2:35-3:15pm.  This opportunity can be used for service to school points or community service hours.  Sign up in the Career Center.

Northlake Elementary School needs volunteers to help in classrooms and to provide childcare during PTO meetings.  These can be used as service to school points or community service hours.  Sign up in the Career Center.
